Girls Night :)

I borrowed a wig from my boss for Halloween. Its a little matted and dusty from sitting in a box for 10 years though, so I had a bright idea... curl it! I asked Chris if we had a basketball or something I could put in on while I worked on it...instead, he so kindly let me use his head.

**Word to the wise, wigs melt. **

Since plan A didn't work, I called my friend who's dad owns a Magic/Costume shop. She said I should wash it and then put sponge rollers in it instead. So I did... again while Chris so patiently sat on the floor drinking his glass of wine.

Now it has a home on my jack-o-lantern until the little beauty dries.

Here is a little sneak peak into our costumes.

*Hint: we have 2 parties. One is a normal Halloween party, the other is a white trash theme. We will only be needing the one costume :)*

trying to be crafty...

I have been making cards for a few weeks. I've always secretly wanted to work at a stationary/invitation store. That's not really very practical right now so I have settled with making them myself. I don't totally love any of them, but I am starting to get the hang of it.

One of the boys I babysit turned 5 today. Every year for his birthday they have a pumpkin carving contest. So after I went to hobby lobby this morning I stopped by the pumpkin patch. Pumpkins are expensive. I think this was the first time I ever bought any. I ended up getting 3 more for out house too. I got my idea from Pottery Barn Kids. I know I'm not a good painter and I never like how it turns out but for some reason I keep attempting to paint anyway. He is my attempt to day. Easy and not as messy.

HAPPY HALLOWEEN

visitor

Saturday Morning bright and early I got a call from my Grandpa John. He said he was an hour away and headed to our house! I knew he would be passing by in October, just not totally sure when. I was still in bed, the house was pretty messy and there was no food in the fridge. Chris and I managed to get everything together, and then he ended up taking 2 hours longer than expected to get here :)

He travels 2/3 of the hear in his R.V. and was always stopping in on a day, or few hours notice. Actually most of the time no notice. We'd be playing outside and he'd just pull up. It was always very exciting.

He is an adopted Grandpa, but more of a grandpa than my real ones. It's always so nice to see him and spend some good time just chatting and catching up. Thanks for stopping by to see us G-PA!

Then on Sunday afternoon Chris and I had tickets to the circus. Chris' had never been and we were able to get really good seats. As we were walking up to the BOK center we started to feel a little like creeps, since we were the only adults with out kids with us. It really was fun though.

Chris' favorite part was the 7 motorcycles in the little cage thing at a time. And I loved all the animals. I don't even like animals usually. I guess I like the ones that can perform. I kind of what a pet Tiger now too. They looked so soft and cuddly :)

Jake the Snake

Here he is....

Dawne always takes her own pictures. They're always super cute!

He's here

Vince and Dawne had another baby boy Oct 15. He weighed 7lb 14 oz. A little on the small size compared to their others :)

Welcome to the world Jake Charles!

This makes 6 for Vince and Dawne. I now have 8 nieces and 11 nephews. All but 2 are from just my side. Only 4 of the 8 kids in my family have had kids so far. We're a little out of control. I do have to say, big families are the BEST!

my gas is lower than your gas

I'm going to gloat a bit just for a second:)

Last week on our way to church Chris noticed the gas station across the said $2.99. We were both pretty shocked, especially since that station is always a few cents higher than the rest. Chris even said he didn't think he would ever see the price of fuel under $3 again.
Well... today I was out running errands and my gas light came on.I pulled into quicktrip and was pleasantly surprised. Its now all the way down to $2.94 I really can't believe it, but I really am very excited. Hopefully it sticks around for a while.

Thats all :)

In honor of Halloween...

A few weeks ago I canceled our pest control. I just wasn't o.k. with paying $75 every other month anymore. Wednesday I rethought my decision a little.

After I was done working out, I casually walked into our bedroom to find this little guy hanging from my curtain.
I had to take a picture cause I knew Chris would think I was exaggerating.
It really was the size of a fifty cent piece, but I was still brave enough to smash it with my shoe. Here he is head... not so big anymore :) I even left it on the table for Chris to see when he got home.
