I don't remember what time we pulled into Leland, NC but the sun was still out.
The drive from Atlanta was pretty painless
...other than the hour we were stuck in traffic on the highway.
It felt good to finally be there.
Day 4 | May 14 - Day 7 | May 17
These days consisted of a lot of hang out & story telling.
Having tea parties & even a little dress up.
Going to the zoo & pool.
A failed attempt at family pictures on the beach.
(The beach wouldn't have been so bad had Campbell not totally hated the water)

Lots of laughs & good conversation.
Playing frisbee & leaf parties.
Emerson learning to crawl & pull himself up (in the same day).

The boys loved every bit of attention they received while we were at PopPop & Granny's.

It was wonderful time, with wonderful people.
We can't wait to go back!
Day 8 | May 18, 2013
The week came & went too quickly.
Saturday meant it was time to say goodbye :(
After making our good bye hug rounds, it was time to jump back in the car.
We spent the night in Birmingham after stopping right outside of Talladega for dinner.
fun fact: Our hotel was connected to the Alabama Sports Hall of Fame.
The night we arrived Dannette Young, Nick Saban, Vickie Orr,
Bill Oliver, Bill Jones & Eric Davis were all being inducted.
Day 9 | May 19, 2013
I don't know if Emerson was more excited that this would be our last day on the road
or that it was Grandma Polly's 65th birthday.
This day we found ourselves yet again in Memphis for lunch,
& stopped on the highway for far too long in Arkansas.
which ended up being ok since a few storms were rolling in.
And then we were home.
The boys missed their beds.
Their mom did too.
