I was going to type Campbell's birth story out in my own words, but as I am looking over the notes my mom took I think it will be more fun for him later on to have her play by play details :)
Her observations crack me up!

Polly says to nurse "So I guess I better not go eat then huh?"
nurse: "not unless you go right now"
Chris takes a picture of Ivory
Ivory: "I hate you, and if my legs weren't numb I'd kick you"
(I was joking of coarse)
The baby's heart beat was dropping with every contraction I had. So the nurse placed a catheter that inserted fluid to release pressure from the umbilical cord during each contraction. It wasn't painful at first, but as the baby's head dropped lower, it became more and more uncomfortable.
So uncomfortable that I told Chris this would be our only baby :)
The extreme pain only lasted for a probably a total of 30 minutes.
After receiving some more love from the epidural god I was good to go again.
At 1 the nurse came in and told me it was time to start pushing.
7 contractions later...
13:24 Campbell is born!
5 lbs. 9.9 oz
19" long
We knew Campbell was going to be small but after his arrival my Doctor discovered that I had a bilobed placenta.
Basically this means that my placenta was divided into two parts, separated by a small dead area. Thankfully, veins from each lobe crossed over the dead area, into each other. It was also half the normal size. If we would have waited any longer to deliver, the baby would have received less and less nutrients, and the outcome may not have been so good.
we have pictures of my placenta but I'll spare you :)
Here he is meeting some family members for the very first time instead :)...
Saturday 2/26/11
We're were ready to be discharged and just waiting for Campbell's Bilirubin levels to come back.
The results came back slightly elevated at 12.6.
His Pediatrician prescribed at home phototherapy.
We had to keep him under the lights at all times unless he was being fed or changed.
When he could reach the edge he'd always have his legs stretched out and his feet pressed up against the glass.
Monday 2/28/11
1st doctors appointment to check bilirubin levels.
His levels had dropped to 7.6!! Dr. Freed gave us the o.k. to stop phototherapy, but wants us to come back the following day to check levels one more time. He said he expects them to rise a little. As long as they stay below 17 we wont have to start phototherapy again.
Tuesday 3/1/11
2nd doctors appointment... bilirubin level: 8!
As long as his color still looks good and he continues to eat well and have regular BM we don't go back until he is 2 weeks old.
Everything has been smooth sailing since :)
Campbell is such a good baby!
So far he only wakes up once per night between 2-4 and he's eating more and more each day. We are so happy to finally have him here and look forward to all our future as a family of 3 has to hold for us.

He is so stinking cute. You guys did good. I'm excited to watch you be parents, even if it's through a blog. Love you.
That picture of him in the green shirt, all curled up is adorable. He's so cute. Congrats!
