A few things....

Call me crazy but I have been really bummed about the winter situation here in Oklahoma. Just last week it was 65 degrees.... it's January... What the heck?!?! Most days it is freezing cold, but there isn't any snow, so I don't really get why it is necessary.

Monday night it started to sleet and when we woke up Tuesday all the schools had been closed and we had 3 inches of ice! It's not a foot of snow but I'll take it! I took the day off, since Chris wasn't really wanting me to make the 40 min drive to work.

We went sledding of the side of the freeway Tuesday night with some friends. I tried to record how fast the boys were going but it was too dark. We broke one sled (twice) and popped the other in no time :) Notice my raccoon eyes? Chris forgot to mention that my mascara was running all down my face so I looked quite lovely.

We had a good time!

Here are the magnets I made for the advent calendars I made for my mom and my siblings with kids.
I also attempted to make a valentine tree. I've always wanted to. When I was at Hobby Lobby the little ornaments were only $2 and on top of that 30% off. I had to! I think I'm going to try and have a tree for each holiday... we'll see how long I keep up with it.

* The ice is melting away :(

I am forewarning you that this post may be a little long. We had to reformat our desktop and some of the programs still don't work quite right yet, and its been putting a cramp in my blogging.

1. I am going to start with a few of my most recent projects. My favorite is the Valentine advent calendar. I found it on another blog. Hers was so cute I had to do it myself. I told my mom about it and she suckered me into making 10 more... I'll be working on them all day tomorrow!

I've been trying to use my cricut to cut vinyl. I still need more practice! I made labels from my moms Sugar, Flour, etc in her kitchen. And then she is also making a plaque for my niece Tara's birthday. It'll be a handy tool to have once I can perfect the system!

2. The family I babysit for had tickets for the local hockey team here on Tuesday. They weren't going to use them so Chris and I did. I never work Tuesday night, so we have designated it as our family/date night and this was a perfect activity. The seats were on the front row next to the penalty box. We had a good time... next time we are going to brush up on the rules of Hockey first. I didn't really understand what was going on.
The one fight of the game.

3. We had tickets to the Brad Paisley, Darius Rucker, and Dierks Bentley concert last night. So GOOD! Other than the freezing cold walk to and from the car the night was amazing :) We have seen Dierks before. He is a great performer. Brad Paisley was a lot better than I expected! It really was a very good show by all 3!

I have to tell you all how romantic my husband is. There is a song Paisley sings called, Wrapped Around. Part of the chorus says "I've been wrapped around her finger since the first time we went out." Chris grabbed my hand and leaned over and sang his version in my ear. It went something like this..."I've been wrapped around her finger since the first time we made out." He just knows how to melt my heart haha :)

4. Here are some random pictures from Christmas, New Years and the days in between. Chris had the week before Christmas off - Jan 3rd. We started to get a little restless at home so much together. So much so that we played Monopoly... just the two of us... a lot.
Zoe loves to sit on the table. She use to push the chair to the back door and sit on it waiting for us to let her in. She's a pain in the you know what... but isn't she so cute!
I hope I'm not turning into a crazy lady that doesn't have kids so I talk about my dogs all the time!

On the way to the farm... they love it! I love how their lips always get stuck on their under bite.

...Note to self... don't attempt to take Christmas pictures with animals...

New years... in a kid size hat... my head looks huge!

I think that's all I have for now! Congratulations if you made it through all of my rambling!

Jordan Michell

I'm sure some of you are already know, but for those that don't Jordan Michell is not doing so well. She was having lots of seizures and the doctors are having a hard time controlling the swelling of her brain. They have actually put her in a coma for the time being. I don't really have anymore information other than that, but I did want to let everyone know that there is a fund set up for her and her family at State Bank of Utah, for anyone that would like to/is willing to help.

Keep the Mitchell family in your prayers!

Flash Back Friday

I just laughed so hard at Rachael's I had to do my own.

I love this because I was always such a brat. Seriously in most of the pictures of me around this age I'm either sticking my tongue out or glaring. I have no idea where we are or what we are doing. I just like that we are wearing shorts and there is snow in the back ground.

Here I am being a brat again. This is at my Aunt Patty's cabin for the 4th of July. We would always decorate our bikes for the parade. This outfit I am wearing was my favorite. Denim sleeveless shirt, denim and white stripped shorts, and denim sandals. I've always had style :)

Everyone's hair and clothes are amazing here. This is some of my moms side of the family. I was wearing black high tops with the outfit too. Hopefully I dressed myself and not my mom! Cole sure was a cute little nugget though!
This is Chris and his sister Candice... her baby boy looks just like her!
