The Macks Visit

This past week we were so very lucky to have Chris' Dad, Debra, & Grandma Linda visit from North Carolina.
We even scored an extra day with them thanks to hurricane Irene.
Here is how our week with them went, picture style:
 We can't wait until your next visit,
please come back soon!
How about next month?

6 MONTHS

We celebrated Campbell turning half a year old by having a little
Very-Merry-Unbirthday Party.
Why not right?!
It was sweet and simple.
I am happy to celebrate having my sweet baby any chance I get.
Everyone that came wrote in his journal.
He will love it someday.
{I also take his journal when we travel and have whomever is with us write him a little something... stole the idea from my sister-in-law Dawne}
I made 1/2 a cookie cake & fruits tarts for the party goers.
Campbell enjoyed his first popsicle.
I just froze a jar of baby food... healthy and easy for me.
{they may or may not have just been mooned by a sweet little redheaded baby..}

For the record:
-He has gotten so much better at eating and playing with he toys in the last month. He's a little like a ravenous beast!
-He is sitting up like a champ. I still keep the bope around him for the occasional tumble when he gets tired, & because he doesn't try to catch himself yet.
-He held his bottle for the first time while we were in Phoenix. If he thinks he is starving, he'll pull it to his mouth and hold it for a while. Mostly he just wants us to do it for him though... & I'm totally happy with that!
-He is very picky when it is time to sleep. Which is good and bad. When we are home and can do our whole routine it works perfectly... but when we're not, we fight with each other a little bit.
-He is all boy! Proof:
  • He love's to be startled. This is how we can get him to laugh the hardest. Popping around the corning and yelling {"BOO", "I'm gonna get you"... pretty much anything) has never been so fun.
  • He is totally content being messy. I am pretty sure he rubs his food all over his face, hair, and belly just because it feels better to him that way :)
  • He is LOUD. This boy has a set of pipes and he is happy to let everyone know how well he can use them.
  • He is always moving. Those legs never stop kicking... usually both at the same time. And his arms are always swinging too.
  • If startling doesn't get a laugh... making a farting noise with your mouth is sure to!
A few things I hope I always remember about my Camster at 6 months:
-The way he kicks in anticipation whenever I go get him out of his crib. I hope he is always so excited to see me in the morning :)
-How he reaches up to touch my face when he is eating or ready for bed.
-The look in his eyes when he sees me. I think I have the very same look in my eyes when I see him too.
-His crooked smirk... just like his dad.
-His deep belly laugh. It's contagious!

Stats:
weight: 16 pounds 4 ounces (29%)
height: 25.5 inches (20%)
head: 43 centimeters (30%)

Still little ... but I wouldn't have him any other way.
He is perfect!

PHX... again

Campbell and I just returned from another trip to Phoenix.
(He did ok on the airplane. He has done worse, and he has done better.
A nice blow out always makes the nearby passengers happy. )
We had a great time helping Aunt Macky with wedding plans, throwing her shower,
and Cam loved every second of all the attention he was smothered with.
His Grandma Polly, aunts, uncles, and cousins sure do love him!
Love may be an understatements... they are obsessed!

I love seeing Campbell with my brothers.
They did a lot of babysitting for me while Mackenzie and I were out running errands.
They never complained.
Wade took a very naked baby Cam swimming.
When I came home from the shower, Miles had changed, fed, and rocked him to sleep.
That evening, Cole asked to stay home and babysit while the rest of us went to see The Help.
And Jon stayed home with Cam earlier in the week while I went to get a pedicure with my mom and sister.
It was great to have all the willing help,
but I missed my little guy while we were busy running around.
{He pulled his bottle to his mouth and held it there for the first}
I loved seeing everyone... as always.
November can't come soon enough,
when we will be back in Phoenix yet again with my family.
The next visit is a very special one.
Our Macky will become Mrs. Rentschler.

{more pictures from phoenix, 6 months stats, and a very merry unbirthday party coming soon...}
