Merry Christmas!

how about 2011 :)

Chris and I spent the morning together just the 2 of us...
we're enjoying our last few weeks of just "us".

I can't imagine how much more fun Christmas
(and everything else for that matter)
will be with our little guy here!

Merry Christmas

Christmas Eve

Last night we celebrated Christmas with Chris' family...

it was so fun seeing the boys so excited!

Well except Jayce... he could care less.

We all got matching scarves with our name on them
from Nanny and Papa

I've always noticed Chris doing this with his tongue when he is concentrating,

but now I see it runs in the family :)

Happiness

... is

Chris surprised me and brought this home the other day for our little guy. It's the first thing he has picked out by himself for the baby. I love it.
I'm thinking it'll be perfect for him to wear on his very first Easter.

12.22.10

I can't believe it...
less than 11 weeks to go until our little nugget will be here!

I am finally starting to actually believe I am pregnant.
Although I do still get caught off guard sometimes when I see my reflection in the mirror :)

I'm a hot mess today... please forgive me for the photos below :)

Our little guy had been measuring small.
We had an appointment Monday, and that is no longer the case.
He has now jumped a head.
We weren't able to get a picture of his face this time since he was facing my back.
The picture we did get is a little reveling.
A lot reveling actually... in 3D.
He has never been shy!
This makes me nervous. He may be just like his uncles on the Stanton side :)
*26 weeks*

I passed my 2nd glucose test,
which consisted of 4 blood draws, not 2 like I was expecting.

We have been working on his room.
The crib and changing table are put together, and the painting is in progress.
And we are getting closer to narrowing down options for his name.

Almost every night, Chris and I lie in bed and listen to his heartbeat. It's my favorite time of the day.
Every time we put the little doppler on my belly he kicks right where it is. EVERY TIME!
Chris has also been reading to him.
The baby goes crazy every time he hears his voice. I love it!

THIS IS REALLY HAPPENING!
75 days to go!

Happiness

...is waking up to goodies in my shoes on St. Nicolas Day

And growing out of all my clothes :)
This is how I look most mornings.
I just happen to be bare foot, pregnant and in the kitchen.

Only 13 weeks to go!

Gingerbread Houses.... take 2

Last night was our 2nd Annual
Gingerbread House Decorating & Pepperoli Eating Night
with the Millers.

We set the timer, and tried to snap a group photo.
Leave it to Chris...

I wonder if Macy knew her mouth was open?

We watched football this year instead of a Christmas movie.
Chris made it to the playoffs in his fantasy football league,
and wasn't about to turn the game off.
You can all rest easy...
he won and will be advancing onto the next round.
Maybe, just maybe, he'll win back all the money he lost in previous years.
I can hope anyway.

Our house collapsed about 20 minutes after we were all finished.
I used forks to reinforce the roof and am proud to announce
she made it thru the night :)

Letters to Santa

My niece Tara, asked us all to help her class raise money for the Make-A-Wish foundation
by writing letters to Santa.
A dollar is earned for every letter that is written.
I enlisted, Chris and the boys I watch everyday to help.
Chris was excited because this would be his first time to ever write Santa a letter :)

You can find more info here
and here on ways you can help

Chris felt like he needed to make up for lost time.
here is a copy of his letter to Santa...

Dear Santa,

Its taken me twenty seven years to write you this letter, due to the fact that I had been led to believe you were not real. I'm sure you can imagine how utterly shocked I was to find out the truth of your existence, and how I leaped at the opportunity to send you my very first wish list. So to make up for lost time, I have decided I will list a gift for every year I missed. Assuming I would have begun making a list at age three, I'll start with 1986.

Age                        Year                    Gift
3                             1986                 A Teddy Ruxin

7                             1990                 Connect Four
8                             1991                 An Electric Football Set
9                             1992                 G.I. Joes
10                           1993                 Etch-A-Sketch
11                           1994                 Hot Wheels
12                           1995                 Legos & Lincoln Logs
13                           1996                 Rubiks Cube

16                           1999                 A car
17                           2000                 A nice car
18                           2001                 Clothes
19                           2002                 An X Box

*****

I went to the Dr. Monday for my 26 week check up and the dreaded glucose test.
I had let everyone psyche me out about how bad "the drink" was going to be.
Its nots bad at all... but I failed :)
Not by a lot, but by enough that I have to retake the test.

I'll do the retake on Friday.
It consists of more of "the drink",
sitting at the Dr.s office for 4 hours,
and having my blood drawn 2 more times.
Yippee

Everything with the baby looks great.
We are finally able to hear his heartbeat at home now with our little doppler.
He is moving more and more, and for longer periods of time.

I have insane heartburn that wakes me up from a dead sleep.
Some days I can control it... other days, not so well.
I feel great, but have started to notice basic things are getting much harder for me to do...
like tying my shoes and getting up off the ground.

It is crazy to me that I only have 14 weeks left?!
That doesn't seem long at all...
less than 100 days in fact :)

We had a great Thanksgiving!

Landyn Found all kinds of fun toys in the toy box at NeNe's house.

One of my favorite things about the holidays are all the fun traditions.
We started two new traditions this year.

The first one I stole from here
I think this will be really fun to look back at every year,
and see how our family changes and grows.
Next year our little nugget will be part of the group picture :)

The second tradition I hope we continue:
Gingerbread House Competition

in between frosting and candy breaks,
Landyn found time to help his mom and dad :)

While the rest of us were hard at work,
our judges were snuggling sweet baby Jayce.

Here are our masterpieces...

I promised not to name who made which house,
Some of us had a harder time than others :)

Isn't he so handsome with a baby in his arms?!
