I have been dragging Chris along with me to a few country concerts lately. Thursday we went to see Trace Adkins and Craig Morgan. James Otto was there too, but we were late and only heard him playing the last two songs from the hall way.

The 2 Miller couples came this go-round too. Here we are in Big Bertha :)

Craig Morgan walked right in front of us for his grand opening. Chris was on a drink run... he's always on a drink run when the performers start. I felt really guilty he missed it. It took me a second to catch on to what all the screaming was about at first so I didn't get a very good picture... even though he was only 5 ft away from me.

Mr. Morgan really likes to thrust his hips around. I started to feel a little awkward. Thankfully we weren't on the first row :)

Since we arrived late, a very large man and his posse had helped themselves to our seats. I tried to politely tell him he was in our seats. He just glared at me and said "No I'm not!" We were backing up the isle and the ushers swarmed around us like CIA agents. It was pretty amazing. They take their jobs very seriously. No need though... Chris handled him :)

Trace was a surprisingly pretty good performer. I pictured him just standing at the mic playing his guitar the whole time, but he actually got around pretty well. I didn't really know very much about him until he was on Celebrity Apprentice last year. I think he's a really good respectable guy! I'm definitely a fan now.

And on a side note: Here is my St. Patrick's Day Tree. It's a little obnoxious. I was very excited February 15th to take my Valentine stuff down and get the Patty's day stuff up!

Valentines Day!

For Valentines day we had a little progressive dinner with a few other couples. I had only done this once, in high school. We had such a good time. I planned on taking lots of pictures, but I forgot I had my camera with me. So none were taken until we got to our house for desert and games.

We played the Newly Wed game (Chris and I totally dominated btw) and then rocked out with
some Karaoke. Yes I sang Karaoke. I couldn't believe I was doing it either.

This year Chris and I had a no spending rule for Valentines Day. I was trying to come up with a cute idea for a gift, but came up with nothin'. So I copied an idea a found on another blog.

Chris is making me a desk. I can't wait. He's making it our of a vanity our brother-in-law gave us so it applies to the rule. We have a little bitty corner desk right now that we've had since our wedding. He just has to finish the top... and we'll be good to go!

Date/Family night

The plan for tonight was to go see a movie originally. While leaving work, I heard there were suppose to be thunder/ hail storms and that "Green Country" was on tornado watch until 10pm. So, staying at home sounded much nicer than getting a few more dents on the hood of my car.

We made and decorated cookies instead. Like everything else it turned in to a competition. Neither of us did too well, since all I had for decorating was frosting, red hots, and a bag of conversation hearts we found when we were more that half way done.

I clearly won... as usual :)

My Dad

For Christmas my dad made my 7 siblings and myself wine. Well kind of, he picked the berries and his friend bottled it for him. I like the idea. I guess this is going to be his thing each year. The bottle has a picture of him riding a bull when he was younger. He named it "Bucking Good Wine". We just now got our bottle because the first one was shattered to pieces when we got it before Christmas.

And on a side note: This week he was also diagnosed with Moderate Sleep Apnea. I have to say I'm not really surprised. I remember him always falling asleep in the chair watching golf or something snoring louder than you can imagine :) Then all of a sudden he would stop breathing for a few seconds, make some sort of noise I can only compare to a deep snort, his dentures would clank together and the snoring would resume. Next week he'll start using a C-PAP machine. It blows air into your nose via a nose mask, keeping the airway open and unobstructed.

K one more thing.... I finally got suckered into reading the Twilight series. I made fun of my sisters 2 years ago for reading a book about a teenage vampire. I don't like Sci-Fi or romance novels, but the book has been able keep me hooked. I went with some girlfriends to see the movie last night. It was a 2nd and 3rd time for a few of them to see it :) All the people around us throughout the entire movie were making the weirdest sounds. The girls in front of us would squeal every time Edward got close to Bella and the big guy next to us kept growling (I thought he was farting actually).

Jordan....

I just wanted to let everyone in the Parowan area know about this.

PAROWAN - Country Pride Productions will present a tribute to legends in country music Saturday as a county-wide fundraiser, including raising funds to help pay medical expenses for Parowan resident Jordan Mitchell.

Mitchell, 19, was put in an induced coma Dec. 29, 2008, after being airlifted by LifeFlight to the University of Utah Hospital's Neurological Critical Care Unit with blood pressure so high it caused her brain to swell.

The former Parowan High School homecoming queen and student body president was diagnosed with systemic scleroderma - a rare, chronic autoimmune disease - at age 13. This condition was compounded by the additional diagnosis of Lupus in the kidneys, another autoimmune disease.

Fellow organizer Larry King said the current student body president would be making a presentation to the Mitchell family at the show, which takes place Saturday at 7 p.m. in the Parowan High School Auditorium.

Part of the Country Pride tradition is to help small-town organizations raise money by providing self-contained entertainment, with 60- to 90-minute shows of popular country songs from different generations.

The company has raised money in the past for churches, fire departments, school organizations, libraries, Special Olympics, Relay for Life and others.

Organizations and fundraisers sell concert tickets for $10 and 50 percent of the money goes back to the fundraiser.

"Wherever we can we try to raise some money to help somebody," King said of the show. "I even told people, 'if you lost your job and you can't find work and things are falling though for you, you can sell some tickets and keep some money,' because they're part of the community, too."

Other local organizations as part of the fundraiser include the high school raising money for a peer group, a group wanting funds to build schools overseas and family in need of financial help to pay for medical bills resulting from cancer treatment.

For information on the show, visit countrypride productions.com or call (801) 638-8815.

Cole got to go surprise her at the hospital this morning with a few other friends. He said she was being hilarious and cracking jokes the whole time. He was proud of her and said she is walking really well. They are expecting for her to go home some time next week!
