Opening Ceremonies

Last night we had a few friends over to watch the opening ceremonies.
We were having so much fun we kept forgetting to take pictures.
... I'll do my best to work with what we did take.

Let's begin with the first photo of the night ;)
Poor campbell fell face first down the slide.
No tears though... his cousins were there. He had to be tough!
We were going for an American theme.
Red White & Blue to wear.
And a little hot dog bar to grub on.

After dinner we all went out to the back yard for a little friendly competition.
We played Darchery & Bonker Bocce.
What do you know... USA took home the gold.
The pressure was on since we were on our home turf.

We capped off the night with an Ice Cream Bar complete with American toppings.
This was when I realized we didn't have very many pictures :(
I snapped a quick one of what was left & called it good.

Summer Bucket List
to do: Have an Ice Cream Party... check!
to eat: Root Beer Float... check!

Redneck Water Bed

I saw this idea on pinterest a while ago and have been wanting to try it out,
so we invited Cam's cousins over and gave it a shot.
Cam loved it for sure!
So much so that he even ate his snack on it :)
I meant to add foam letters before closing it off but forgot to leave a hole big enough for them to fit.
...then I was going to add glitter & food coloring...
what do you know? I forgot.
I blame it all on pregnancy brain
It was definitely more enjoyable for the younger kids.
We had a great day.
CamMan loves having the big kids over to play!

Summer Bucket List

To Do: play in the rain... check

The only rule we have for our summer bucket list is that we have to do everything as a family.
This morning Chris & I were happy to just watch as Campbell knocked this one off the list for us.

I let Zoe out & Campbell insisted on going out too... even though it was pouring rain.
He wasn't phased in the least.
The boy would live outside if it was up to him.

And then it was time to come inside.
He wasn't happy about that.
Someday he'll thank me for not letting him get struck by lightening ;)

Summer Bucket List

To Eat: a treat from the ice cream truck... check!
We caught the ice cream truck at the neighbors house last night just as we were about to eat dinner.
Campbell got his very first bomb pop.
It was a little too much for the little guy to handle, so his dad & I helped him out.
While we were "helping", Cam finished off his dads cookies & cream ice cream.
After it was about half way gone he could finally hold it himself.
He was one happy boy!

Summer Bucket List

To Do: go to a water park... check!

We went to a little water park in Muskogee, OK on the 4th.
Campbell & I had gone before, but this was our first time as a family.
All of our bucket list items must be completed as a family.

It was perfect.
The children's area is wonderful, it's clean & the price it very reasonable.
I was pretty sure it was going to be miserably busy.
For the first time in my life I was wrong ;)

Campbell had the best time.
He totally soaks it up when he has us both all to himself.
When we got home everyone took a nice long nap!
Perfect ending to a great afternoon.

What's in a name...

We want our kids to have names that mean something.
Family names.
A name they can be proud of.
A name they will be proud to represent.

With that being said....
Emerson Teafatiller Mack
will be the name of baby #2.

Emerson is a name we have both always liked.
It was one of the three choices we were deciding on before Campbell was born.
Once we found out we were expecting again,
it would come to mind every time I thought of our unborn babe.
...even before we knew he was a boy.
We've known that he would be Emerson from the beginning.

When it was confirmed at 14 weeks along that we were indeed expecting a boy
we began to decide on a middle name.
Several were tossed around & we thought we had decided on a couple,
but none of them ever seemed just right

We finally decided on Teafatiller.
Teafatiller is a family name.
It's Chris' grandparents last name. Emerson's Nanny & Papa.
Its long... especially so when teamed up with a long first name like Emerson.
It isn't very pretty,
& it will probably take him a long time to learn to spell.
But its a special name for our special boy.
It has a long heritage, passed on for generations,
that he will be proud to carry on.

*****

Today I went to the Dr. for a routine check up.
Emerson is measuring almost a week and a half ahead of schedule.
He only weighs one pound less than Campbell did at birth...
& we still have 7+ weeks to go!?!
He is still breech, so we went ahead and scheduled a c-section.
If he turns around before D day we'll just cancel it & go the natural route.
Otherwise his birthday will be August 27, 2012!

We are so excited to meet little E.
I can't wait for him to meet his big brother.

53 days to go...
